UHS Wilson Helipad to be Closed Jan 13 6am-6pm
UHS Wilson Medical Center’s rooftop helipad will be CLOSED (unavailable for landings or departures) this Monday, January 13, 2020 from 6 am until approximately 6 pm.
This means that Wilson will NOT be able to accept any flights or use the helipad under any circumstances during this period. This closure is required to complete important facility upgrades.
In the event UHS needs to conduct a medevac mission out of Wilson or BGH during this closure, Binghamton Regional Airport will be our landing zone.
EMS scene flights will need to land at the closest, most appropriate hospital with a fully operational hospital helipad during this period.
911 Centers and EMS providers are asked to plan accordingly and are always encouraged to consult our E.D. based medical command physicians for any necessary consultation, advice or orders.
If anyone has any questions or concerns regarding this please contact:
William J. Loller, RN, AEMT-CC, CLNC
UHS EMS/Medevac Program Manager.
