As many of you are aware SREMS has been working feverishly towards releasing a new version of the ePCR system over the last couple of years. As of late we have transitioned approximately 96% of the users over and have notified agencies through various methods to include electronic postings, electronic mail as well as through public meetings and the U.S. Postal Service to enlighten all as to our progress as well as the minimum requirements.
At this time we are pleased to announce that as of August 1, 2008 at 19:00 hours the Version 4.0 ePCR system will be shut down and placed into a standby mode rendering those agencies systems still lacking the upgrade with out the ability to transfer data to the main server. If your agency is one who has not been updated or upgraded please review the following requirements:
Version 5 Minimum System Requirements
Pentium III or equivalent AMD processor
512 MB RAM preferred or more
Windows 2000, XP w/sp2, or 2003 with .NET 2.0 Framework
Functioning compatible printer
Broadband Internet Connection (DSL or Cable Preferred)
FAX machine
Once the requirements have been met please contact the program agency at 607-778-2180 or via email to mark@srems.com to schedule an appointment.

PLEASE PRINT, POST & DISTRIBUTE:
Some updated information regarding ethanol...
All of us are familiar with the UN1203 placard on gasoline.
But with the cost of fuel oil skyrocketing, alcohol and alcohol blends are becoming more commonplace. The alcohol/gasoline blends are the ones that should really concern us, because the fire or spill would have different characteristics than normal gasoline.
Beginning December of this year, a new number has been approved for gasoline/alcohol blends that have an alcohol content of more than 10%.
The number is: UN3475.
The placards that might be of interest:
Gasoline, gasoline/alcohol 10% or less- UN1203
Gasoline/alcohol >10%- UN3475
Denatured alcohol- UN1987 or UN1993

GM's STC First Responder web site ( www.gmstc.com ) contains free-of-charge, publicly available information on:
- Specific systems (e.g., air bags and safety belt pretensioners) and
- GM's alternative fueled vehicles (e.g., individual GM hybrid products and the Equinox Fuel Cell). The GM web site includes quick reference sheets and more comprehensive references guides -- for download or printing; for use in training, reference, or at the scene.
Also, the web site includes a "Contact Us" option for feedback and questions.
GM continues to enhance the web site as new products are introduced (including alternative fueled vehicles in field trials or vehicles sold into commerce) and to address first responders / emergency rescue
questions.
